WELCOME TO THE YONKERS FAMILY YMCA

The Yonkers Family YMCA is committed to diversity and inclusion for all. We are focused on uplifting our community through the positive development of our youth, promotion of healthy living and fulfilling our social responsibility. We believe in social justice and are guided by a strong spiritual foundation. We work globally and locally for the overall success of our community.

We work to achieve our mission by changing the lives of people, addressing the everyday challenges of health, poverty, and race. The Y accomplishes this for children, seniors, and families, by creating a safe environment, providing a place to play and grow, and ensuring many do not go to bed hungry.

Community services are important to the residents of Yonkers, and are made possible through our community partners.

Find resources for things such as ESL classes, city Food Pantries, Dining Services and much more.

EVERYONE BELONGS AT THE Y

Welcome to the Yonkers Family YMCA. We’re part of a nonprofit organization of over 2,700 Ys located in 10,000 communities across the United States dedicated to strengthening the communities that they serve. With a focus on developing the potential of youth, improving individual health and well-being, and giving back to and supporting communities, your participation brings about meaningful change not just within yourself, but also in your community.

WHAT THE Y MEANS TO OUR COMMUNITY

"The YMCA's kitchen was down during the holidays, and our facility was available. The YMCA had certified cooks and we did not.

I am so glad we partnered to feed several hundred families. What an amazing staff and group of volunteers the YMCA had. They have gone out of their way to serve quality and quantity."

- Major Marisabel Swires, Salvation Army Commanding Officer
"I come to the YMCA on a regular basis, not for myself, but for two families who live in the same complex that I live in. I am amazed that they continue to serve such a large volume of people.

Somehow, with that being said, they manage to make sure that the children and adults are all served with good, healthy items. It is great to know that YMCA's do more than just wellness activities."

- Marietta Bussey, Food Program Participant
"I am so proud of the both the social work team and the outreach team.

They really show up and bring their best. I can tell everyone has put in a lot of work in growing the entire SNUG program."

- Crystol Devaney, Social Work Supervisor, NYS DCJS
"I love going to my local Y in Yonkers. It's affordable, nearby and convenient, and I can usually park right outside on the street. It's a real community, and folks seem to know and care about each other, and I love that. The staff are friendly and helpful.

It matters to me, as a person of color, that it's diverse - I see and meet all kinds of people there, all ages, all races, men and women. As I get older my body needs more attention, and using the fitness room at the Y regularly makes all the difference."

-Neem Dewji, Director of Yoga for Bliss
