After several years of not celebrating, the YMCA celebrated its 129th anniversary of service in Yonkers with a Dinner Dance on October 27, 2011 at the Polish Community Center.
As a part of its celebration the YMCA was able to honor some of its supporters who have helped the Yonkers YMCA maintain the course during some turbulent times.  Those honored were:

New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins
Yonkers City Councilman Wilson Terrero
Captain Frank Intervallo, Yonkers Police Dept.- 4th Precinct (now Deputy Chief)
Pastor Margaret Martinez
Yonkers Community Health Center
Food Bank for Westchester

“We are grateful that so many attended the event.  It shows that people trust us with a very important part of their lives; their health and well-being”

- Chief Executive Officer Shawyn Patterson-Howard

The event was attended by more than 300 people and was enjoyed by all.
